Removing the front panel to protect your unit fromtheft1Press the detach button to release the frontpanel.2Push the front panel upward and pull it towardyou.3Always keep the detached front panel in a protec-tion device such as a protection case.Re-attaching the front panel1Slide the front panel to the left.Make sure to insert the tabs on the left side of thehead unit into the slots on the front panel.2Press the right side of the front panel until it isfirmly seated.If you cannot attach the front panel to the headunit successfully, make sure that you are placingthe front panel onto the head unit correctly. For-cing the front panel into place may result in da-mage to the front panel or head unit.Turning the unit on1PressSRC/OFFto turn the unit on.Turning the unit off1PressSRC/OFFand hold until the unit turns off.Selecting a source1PressSRC/OFFto cycle through the sourceslisted below:TUNER(tuner)—CD(built-in CD player)—AUX(AUX)Adjusting the volume1TurnSRC/OFFto adjust volume.CAUTIONFor safety reasons, park your vehicle when remov-ing the front panel.NoteWhen this unit’s blue/white lead is connected tothe vehicle’s auto-antenna relay control terminal,the vehicle’s antenna extends when this unit’ssource is turned on. During thesearch,PI SEEKis displayed and sound ismuted.Using Auto PI Seek for preset stationsWhen preset stations cannot be recalled, aswhen travelling long distances, the unit canbe set to perform PI Seek during preset recall.!The default setting for Auto PI Seek is off.Refer toA-PI(auto PI seek)on page 8.Receiving traffic announcementsRegardless of the source you are listening to,you can receive traffic announcements auto-matically with TA (traffic announcementstandby).1 Tune in to a TP or enhanced other net-work’s TP station.2 Press TA/AF to turn traffic announce-ment standby on or off.3 Turn SRC/OFF to adjust the TA volumewhen a traffic announcement begins.The newly set volume is stored in the memoryand will be recalled for subsequent traffic an-nouncements.4 Press TA/AF while a traffic announce-ment is being received to cancel the an-nouncement.The tuner returns to the original source but re-mains in the standby mode untilTA/AFispressed again.Function settings%Press FUNC to select the function.After selecting, perform the following proce-dures to set the function.!If MW/LW band is selected, onlyBSMorLOCALis available.BSM(best stations memory)BSM (best stations memory) automatically stores thesix strongest stations in the order of their signalstrength.Storing broadcast frequencies with BSM may replacebroadcast frequencies you have saved using1to6.1Pressato turn BSM on.The six strongest broadcast frequencies arestored in the order of their signal strength.To cancel the storage process, pressb.REG(regional)When AF is used, the regional function limits the se-lection of stations to those broadcasting regional pro-grams.1Pressaorbto turn the regional function on oroff.LOCAL(local seek tuning)En5EnglishSection02Operating this unit<QRD3059-A/N>3
